StarCAM is the Icyrobot CAM and nesting package for plasma, flame and laser cutting tables. It turns a DXF or DWG drawing into a kerf-compensated, common-line nested cutting programme in minutes — and it ships with the post-processors for Icyrobot CNC controllers. Download the installer below, or read our CNC table vs handheld cutting guide if you are still deciding on a cutting setup.

Installation Steps
- Download the archive and extract it to a local folder (disable your antivirus temporarily if it blocks the extractor).
- Run
Setup.exeas administrator and follow the wizard; keep the default installation path. - Plug in the USB licence key (gold key for V4.7, red key for V5) before the first launch.
- Start StarCAM, open Machine → Post Processor and select the post for your controller.
- Import a DXF test part, set kerf width and lead-in length, then run a dry simulation before cutting.
- For a permanent activation key, email your hardware serial number to lcy@lcyrobot.com.
Pair It With
StarCAM outputs directly to our CNC cutting controllers and to the LGK-IGBT inverter plasma cutters. For fine-finish work, pair it with a Max-AL precision plasma source. Kerf quality classes follow ISO 9013 thermal cutting standards.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which cutting processes does StarCAM support?
StarCAM supports plasma, flame and laser thermal cutting, with common-line cutting, bridging, chain cutting, kerf compensation and lead-in/lead-out optimisation. DXF and DWG drawings import directly for nesting.
What are the system requirements?
Windows 7/10/11 64-bit, 4 GB RAM minimum (8 GB recommended), at least 2 GB free disk space and one USB port for installation and licensing. An internet connection is recommended for the first activation.
How do I get an activation key?
The archive ships with a trial licence. For a permanent key, email your hardware serial number and company name to lcy@lcyrobot.com and we will reply with activation instructions within one business day.
Does it work with your own CNC controllers?
Yes. StarCAM is natively paired with the Icyrobot MNC-LB laser cutting controller and the 1000TA/TB lathe controllers, and it also exports common post-processed formats for third-party CNCs.
