Max-125AL Low-Frequency Air Plasma Cutter

Non-HF Plasma Cutting Machine

The Max-125AL is a non-high-frequency air plasma cutting machine built for both manual cutting and automated systems, including CNC cutting tables and robotic cells. Standard digital communication and analogue interfaces allow direct connection to most automation equipment. Non-HF arc starting eliminates high-frequency interference entirely, so the machine can be installed beside CNC controls and communication hardware without additional shielding. A high duty cycle supports continuous heavy industrial operation, while three operating modes — standard cutting, continuous pilot-arc cutting and gouging — cover production cutting, expanded-metal or grated work and weld preparation on one platform. Digital soft-switching inverter technology holds parameters accurately across the current range, and the system logs consumable cutting time and pierce count so maintenance can be planned rather than guessed. Automatic gas-pressure detection lowers the chance of abnormal torch damage, and protection against over-temperature, under-voltage and phase loss safeguards the power source. Applications Carbon steel, alloy steel and non-ferrous metals. Typical users include industrial power-plant installation, boilers and pressure vessels, shipbuilding, metallurgy, petrochemicals, aerospace, construction machinery and steel-structure fabrication.

  • High duty cycle for continuous heavy industrial production
  • Three modes: standard cutting, continuous pilot-arc cutting and gouging
  • Digital soft-switching inverter control for accurate, repeatable parameters
  • Consumable run-time and pierce counting for planned maintenance
  • Automatic gas-pressure detection reducing abnormal torch damage
  • Over-temperature, under-voltage and phase-loss protection as standard
  • 125 A output for thicker plate and higher cutting speed

Typical Applications

  • Medium and heavy plate cutting in steel fabrication
  • Shipbuilding, pressure vessels and power-plant installation
  • Structural steel and construction machinery
  • Gouging and weld preparation
  • CNC tables running long production shifts

Selection & Setup Notes

Choose the Max-125AL when plate thickness and duty cycle, not portability, drive the decision. It suits CNC tables running long shifts on carbon steel above 12 mm. For lighter work the Max-105AL is more economical; for the thickest plate in the range see the Max-151AL. All models are compared under non-HF plasma cutting machines.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is 125 A suited to continuous piercing of thick plate?

Yes, but set pierce height and dwell separately and use progressive ramp-up — otherwise blowback damages the nozzle.

Does higher speed hurt edge quality?

Not inside the process window — the point of a precision arc is being both fast and clean. Dross and bevel appear only outside the window, so parameter calibration matters.

How should maintenance be scheduled?

Replace consumables by running hours rather than on failure, and inspect air filters, water strainers and torch cables monthly.
