DJC-01 Torch Guard for Plasma Cutting

Plasma Consumables & Parts

DJC-01 torch guard, a torch protection device for plasma cutting systems. It monitors torch condition in real time and prevents collision damage, keeping automated cutting equipment running. The guard senses a collision instantly and lifts the torch automatically, emitting an emergency-stop signal through a combined mechanical and electrical design. In practice it downgrades a crash from a complete torch replacement to a simple reset, so production continues within minutes. It fits the mounting interfaces of common torch lift bodies, resets easily and keeps downtime short, and its compact construction does not affect torch height or travel. Applications Fitted to CNC plasma cutting machines and robotic cutting cells, for batch and automated cutting lines.

Key Features

  • Combined mechanical and electrical protection: releases instantly on impact and outputs an emergency-stop signal
  • Turns a crash from a torch-assembly replacement into a reset and continue
  • Fits the mounting interfaces of common torch lift bodies
  • Simple reset with very short downtime
  • Compact construction that does not affect torch height or stroke
  • Reduces torch and consumable losses on automated lines

Typical Applications

  • Torch protection on CNC plasma tables
  • Collision protection in robot cutting cells
  • Duties with warped or badly heat-distorted plate
  • Batch production with complex nesting paths and high crash risk

Selection & Setup Notes

The cost of a guard is normally far below one crash: bent torch body, crushed nozzle, stripped lifter rack, and sometimes a burned THC board. Matching torches: the MS-4000. For process troubleshooting see cut quality troubleshooting.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it destroyed after one hit?

No — it is designed to release and trigger an e-stop, and production can normally resume after reset and inspection. Always check torch concentricity and body for deformation afterwards.

Does it affect cutting accuracy?

Not when installed correctly. It sits between torch and lifter without changing height or travel.

What signal wiring does it need?

Wire the release signal into the controller e-stop chain; wiring and parameters follow the system documentation.
