ZD7-1250 Submerged Arc Welder

Submerged Arc Welder

ZD7-1250 inverter multi-process arc welding power source. Design features - Compact footprint that saves valuable floor space - Penetration control advantage: deeper penetration without increasing heat input - Controllable penetration with repeatable parameter accuracy - Fast arc starting - One machine for submerged-arc welding, manual arc welding, carbon-arc gouging and electroslag welding - Good bead appearance and a wide range of matched applications - IP23S protection rating for improved safety - Heavy industrial rating: 100% duty cycle at 40 °C for severe operating conditions Applications Mainly for carbon steel and its alloys and stainless steel. Widely used in steel-structure buildings, bridges, locomotives and ships, pressure vessels, spiral-welded pipe and large forgings. Why 1250 A 1250 A targets the heaviest structural and pressure-vessel work, where deposition rate determines the project schedule. Combined with a flux recovery system and an automatic welding boom, it turns long seams on thick plate into a single-pass operation with repeatable quality.

Key Features

  • 1250 A output for the heaviest plate and maximum deposition rate
  • DC submerged-arc output with stable arc and deep, repeatable penetration
  • Flux-covered arc: spatter-free, glare-free and low fume
  • Uniform bead profile that reduces post-weld grinding
  • Designed for continuous duty with flux recovery and automatic booms
  • 100% duty cycle at 40 °C for severe industrial conditions

Typical Applications

  • Heavy structural H-beams and box members
  • Bridge members and steel box girders
  • Large construction machinery structures
  • Long straight seams in building steelwork

Selection & Setup Notes

1250 A targets long straight seams in heavy steelwork: deep penetration and fast travel, with a gantry column cutting programme times substantially. Above 40 mm, see the ZD7-2000.

Frequently Asked Questions

What supply does 1250 A require?

A stable three-phase industrial service with capacity and cable sizing checked; at high current, also consider ventilation and ambient temperature.

How do I stop long seams drifting?

Fit seam tracking and check the alignment of rolls and column periodically. Manual gun-watching is not reliable over long seams.

Is post-weld heat treatment needed?

It depends on material and design code. Thick plate and highly restrained joints often need preheat and post-heat per design and qualification requirements.
