Max-151AL Low-Frequency Air Plasma Cutter

Non-HF Plasma Cutting Machine

The Max-151AL is the highest-current model in the non-high-frequency air plasma range. It is engineered for manual cutting and for automated systems alike — CNC cutting tables and robotic cells — and carries digital communication and analogue interfaces as standard for direct connection to automation equipment. Non-HF arc starting removes high-frequency interference completely, so installation next to CNC controls, servo drives and communication equipment needs no special shielding. The high duty cycle supports continuous heavy industrial production, and the three operating modes — standard cutting, continuous pilot-arc cutting and gouging — let one machine handle production cutting, interrupted or expanded-metal work, and weld preparation. Digital soft-switching inverter technology maintains accurate parameters across the whole current range. The controller records consumable cutting time and the number of pierces so that consumable replacement can be scheduled. Automatic gas-pressure detection reduces abnormal torch damage, and automatic over-temperature, under-voltage and phase-loss protection protects the power source. Applications Carbon steel, alloy steel and non-ferrous metals, in industrial power-plant installation, boilers and pressure vessels, shipbuilding, metallurgy, petrochemicals, aerospace, construction machinery and steel-structure fabrication.

  • Pressure vessels, boilers and power-plant installation
  • Metallurgical and petrochemical plant maintenance
  • Heavy gouging and weld preparation
  • High-utilisation CNC cutting tables

Selection & Setup Notes

The Max-151AL is the right choice when plate thickness regularly exceeds 20 mm or when the machine runs two or three shifts. Plan for a higher-capacity compressor and, for long automated runs, the MSW-20L water chiller. Lighter duty is covered more economically by the Max-125AL. Full specifications are listed under non-HF plasma cutting machines.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the maximum cut at 151 A?

It depends on material, gas and torch configuration, and is usually well above a conventional machine of the same current. Confirm against the datasheet or with our engineers.

What chiller capacity do I need?

Size to total torch plus source heat load plus 20% margin, and meet the torch flow and return-temperature requirements — see the chiller specification.

Can I cut stainless on air?

Yes, but the edge oxidises dark. Use nitrogen where appearance or welding quality matters.
