Key Features

  • Capacitor discharge welding in 1–5 ms with a minimal heat-affected zone
  • Almost no reverse marking on sheet from 0.5 mm
  • Tolerant of galvanised and coated sheet
  • High throughput for volume stud placement
  • Compact and easy to integrate into a line

Typical Applications

  • Appliance panels and enclosures
  • Decorative metalwork and curtain wall components
  • Automotive interior parts and thin-sheet assemblies
  • Electronic housings and brackets

Selection & Setup Notes

Capacitor discharge stud welding handles the case of thin sheet that must show no reverse marking. For medium plate and load-bearing shear connectors, use the inverter arc stud welder. Both routes are compared in the stud welder section.

Frequently Asked Questions

What stud sizes can it weld?

Typically M3–M10; larger studs need the drawn-arc process for penetration and strength.

Can it weld galvanised sheet?

Yes, but zinc vaporisation brings fume and porosity risk — increase ventilation and adjust parameters.

Is the reverse side truly mark-free?

On thin sheet the reverse marking is extremely slight and normally needs no treatment — the thinner the sheet, the more visible the advantage.
